Milan table €20m for Samuel Chukwueze

According to reports in Italy, Milan are ready to sign Samuel Chukwueze and will contact Villarreal to start negotiations in the coming days. The Rossoneri are looking to bolster Stefano Pioli’s frontline this summer and want to bring in a new right winger capable of adding an extra layer to the attack.

Chukwueze is Milan’s top target for this, with the club believing that he has all the qualities needed to make a difference: pace, power, creativity and finishing. As detailed by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan have already reached a verbal agreement with Chukwueze, finding common grounds on both his salary and the length of the deal.

Now, the Rossoneri will make contact with Villarreal to start negotiating a deal. The Spanish side have set a €30m price tag on the 24-year-old, who has a year left on his contract.

Milan are planning to start talks with an offer of €20m and willing to raise the figures further through add-ons, while reports in Spain suggest the Yellow Submarine will only sanction Chukwueze’s departure from Estadi de la Ceràmica if the demand of at least €25 million plus bonuses is met.

Pau Torres is expected to travel to the Midlands next week to complete an initial £33m move to Aston Villa. The club agreed a deal with Villarreal over the weekend that also includes a number of potential bonus payments on top.

Torres is preparing to travel to the UK for a medical and reunite with his former manager Unai Emery, with whom he won the Europa League in 2021. The Spain international has been coveted by a number of Premier League teams over the last few years and his signature is seen as somewhat of a coup for the club. He is understood to have had a £60m (€70m) release clause in his contract but Villa were able to negotiate more favourable terms, and will pay the fee over the period of his contract.

Torres was in the Spain squad for the World Cup and made 39 appearances for Villarreal last season. He had one-year left on his deal. Villa boss Emery is understood to have more influence over recruitment following his impressive impact on the team last season and the exit of chief executive Christian Purslow this summer.
