In a recent statement, Ifeanyi Ubah, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has issued a warning to Simon Ekpa, the individual behind the enforcement of sit-at-home order that has been affecting the region. Ubah expressed a willingness to forgive Ekpa for the injuries inflicted thus far but made it clear that further disruptions would not be tolerated.
The senator lamented that for the past two years, Ekpa had been enforcing his sit-at-home order in the South-East, despite the huge misfortune and hardship that came with it.
The sit-at-home order, which has been ongoing in Anambra State, has caused significant disruptions to daily life and economic activities. While initially intended as a form of protest against perceived injustices, the continuous implementation of the order has drawn the ire of many residents who believe it has overstayed its purpose.
Ifeanyi Ubah, known for his influence in the state, stepped forward to address the situation. In his statement, he urged Ekpa to abandon the sit-at-home order and specifically warned him to stay away from Nnewi, a major town in Anambra State.
He said: “We will forgive Ekpa for the injuries he has inflicted on us so far, but if he continues, we will deal with him furiously. He should leave Anambra State alone. We are warning him to steer clear of Nnewi with his sit-at-home order forthwith.”
