President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s portraits are not present in all of the Abia State Government’s offices, for reasons that have been given.

The governor, Dr. Alex Otti, rejected the idea that Tinubu’s absence was a result of his administration’s failure to recognize him as the country’s leader.

Otti was responding to web allegations that said some Government House offices lacked portraits of the president.

The governor’s special adviser on media and publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, claimed the state government had portraits of the president in some offices but not all, and that the same was true of the governor.

Since this is a new administration, few offices feature the governor’s portrait. We’ve ordered additional images and placed orders for some. Politics have no bearing on it.

“On the day the governor met with permanent secretaries, the banquet hall still displayed the former governor Ikpeazu’s photo.

It is unlawful to state that the president who was lawfully sworn in will not be recognized. We don’t believe it is going in that route, and it doesn’t make sense,” Ekeoma was reported as saying by the Daily Trust.

He claimed that in order to undermine Governor Otti, the opposition in the state must have funded the media reports to that effect.
