Liverpool FC has taken a significant step in securing the future of its youth academy by offering new contracts to two promising Nigerian defenders: Wellity Lucky and Emmanuel Airoboma.

Wellity Lucky
The 19-year-old centre-back, born in Zaragoza to Nigerian parents, joined Liverpool’s academy at the U13 level. Over the 2024–2025 season, he featured in 17 matches across Premier League 2, the UEFA Youth League, and the EFL Trophy, showcasing his potential as a modern central defender. Liverpool has offered him a four-year deal, despite interest from clubs in Spain and Germany
