The former member of the National Working Committee (NWC) expressed worry that elected members and party stakeholders should be concerned about Tinubu’s protracted absence. He noted that if everything had gone according to plan, those vying for leadership in the 10th Assembly would have visited the President-elect wherever he was in the world.

According to a statement by Tinubu’s aide, he was traveling to France and the UK for rest before continuing to Saudi Arabia for the lesser Hajj. While he is overseas, the President-elect will outline his transition strategy and is expected to return soon. However, the APC leader noted that the transition programme has not yet commenced.

The party boss also highlighted the internal issues within the APC, citing recent allegations made against the National Chairman by the National Vice Chairman of the North West. He expressed concerns about party members’ lack of visits to Tinubu, and questioned the implications of the media report that he was in a hospital in the USA.

While the party leader called for prayers for the President-elect’s health, he also urged greater caution from the party regarding the matter.
