During a Facebook live session early today, Asari Mujahid Dokubo spoke about the recent comments made by Yusuf Datti Ahmed, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, regarding Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29th.
Dokubo pointed out that Datti Ahmed’s father is not originally from Nigeria, but they have still shown him hospitality, and even Dokubo’s children attend Datti Ahmed Private University in Abuja. Dokubo also accused Datti Ahmed of getting to the Senate by default and using his closeness to Goodluck Jonathan to make money during his presidency, which he then used to establish a university in Abuja. Dokubo claimed that his own children attend this university, but Datti Ahmed’s recent comments show a lack of gratitude towards their hospitality.
Dokubo went on to criticize Datti Ahmed’s arrogance and his interpretation of Section 134(2) of the Constitution, which he used to argue that Tinubu should not be sworn in. According to Dokubo, Datti Ahmed and his running mate did not meet the 25% threshold in 2/3 of the states, as required by the Constitution, and therefore, their opinion should not hold more weight than any other section of the country.
