If Tinubu appoints me as Senate President, I will not defy him – Gov Umahi
David Umahi, has just finished a statewide broadcast in which he expressed interest in the position of Senate president held by the administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently led by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The comments made by Umahi were made not long after the telecast.
Governor David Umahi said, ” I would like to take this opportunity to implore and make a request to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, as well as the president- elect, that the senate be zoned to the southeast for the sake of equity, justice, and fairness.

Governor David Umahi proceeded by saying, ” the reason I want there to be inclusion and national unity is because I want the seat of the Senate to be given to the southeast. He went on to say, ” Putting it there will convince Nigerians that we are all working in the direction of a total reconciliation, which will, in turn, assist to soothe their fears. Placing it there will reassure Nigerians that we are all moving in the road of a complete reconciliation. I say this with the deepest sense of humility because it is something that I am stating. ”
Again, Governor David Umahi is reported to have been quoted as saying, ” Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima’ s rise to power is a miraculous event because no man could have brought about such a change, absent the hand of God in their lives. However, God has been active in the lives of both of these men. Many said no but God said yes. ”
The remark that follows was given by Governor David Umahi: ” I put myself forth for the office of the senate president without prejudice to whatsoever is the will of God. “
