In his post, Ayo Man stated:

“Omo can’t even explain what I’m feeling after reading like crazy. I’m not accusing JAMB, but I scored 268 last year and 253 in a mock I didn’t really take seriously. How could I score 149 in the main exam that felt easy? Well, I will leave it to God and try again next year.”

This sentiment resonates with many candidates who have reported similar discrepancies between their mock and actual UTME scores. According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), over 75% of candidates scored below 200 in the 2025 UTME, with a significant number falling within the 160–199 score range .

Some candidates attribute the unexpected low scores to various factors, including technical issues during the examination, differences in question difficulty between the mock and actual exams, and potential discrepancies in the grading system. JAMB, however, maintains that the examination process is transparent and that the results reflect the candidates’ performances.

As discussions continue, many candidates are calling for a review of the examination process to ensure fairness and accuracy in the grading system.
