The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has finally won the support and endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers State chapter, according to a report in The Sun Nigeria. The election is scheduled to take place in less than five weeks. In an interview with reporters, Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, the chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area and a member of the Rivers PDP, disclosed that after the party’s presidential candidate was dropped, the party’s leaders—including Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike—examined the other two front-runners, Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and he discovered that Bola Ahmed Tinubu was the best candidate among them. After rejecting Atiku, Nwanosike claimed, “We evaluated Obi and Tinubu and discovered that Tinubu is the best of them all.”
Nwanosike, who is a strong ally of Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State governor, continued to talk, stating that even if the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, later reconciles with Nyesom Wike, they will not still support him unless Nyesom Wike instructs them to support him.
