King Sunny Ade Clarifies Absence: ‘My Children Thought I Was Kidnapped’

Legendary Nigerian musician King Sunny Ade has addressed recent concerns regarding his whereabouts. In a video message, he explained that his children mistook his brief period of rest for a kidnapping. He stated, “My children and everybody want to see me. The confusion arose when his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, alleged on social media that her stepbrother, Dayo, was holding their father against his will. These claims were refuted by other family members and aides, who confirmed King Sunny Ade’s safety.

King Sunny Ade emphasized his well-being and ongoing engagements, stating, “I thank God and all my people all over the world. I’m grateful. My children and everybody want to see me. It was in the middle of when I went to rest that they thought I was abducted. I wasn’t kidnapped and taken to anywhere. I also did not abduct myself. I’m grateful to God.”

He also issued a warning against spreading false information, stating that legal action would be taken against those tarnishing his reputation.
