Naira Marley is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record label owner. He has made headlines multiple times for his controversial music videos, and his advocacy for drug use and cybercrime. Naira Marley was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged money laundering.
Unarguably, the most controversial incident involving Naira Marley in 2023 occurred when he was accused of having hands in the death of his late former signee, Mohbad.
Immediately after his death, MohBad’s management came out publicly to request the release of MohBad’s royalties with Naira Marley’s Music record label.
On 18 September 2023, Naira Marley and Zinoleesky’s songs and every song released under Marlian Music were placed on ban from airplay by several radio and television stations in Nigeria, including Splash FM in Ibadan. This radio station even ordered the ban to take effect across other radio stations in Oyo state.
Naira and his friend, Sam Larry were later arrested by the Nigerian police force after several investigations were conducted.

5- Seun Kuti
In May 2023, One of the sons of Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti trended online after he allegedly harassed a police officer on Third Mainland Bridge.
The singer was seen in a viral video slapping the police in uniform for bashing his car.
He was placed under arrest in line with the law, as he turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters.
6- Phyna
BBNaija reality star, hype woman and entertainer, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, who won Big Brother Naija season 7.
Phyna joined the list of controversial Nigerian celebrities after her father, Mr. Felix Otabor called her out over her disappearance after winning N100 million from Big Brother Naija show.
