Foden, deployed in a new role, was actively involved throughout the match. However, he struggled to leave a huge impact before being substituted.
The Manchester City’s attacker performance exposed England’s broader issues with their offensive plan, a challenge also faced by Jude Bellingham.
Harry Kane
Kane appeared off his game for much of the evening. On several occasions, he seemed to be out of position in the box, which was uncharacteristic for the usually reliable striker.
