The declaration was made during a gathering in Abuja on Thursday, May 8, 2025, amidst speculations about internal divisions within the APC and potential defections. Key attendees included Katsina State Governor Dr. Dikko Radda, former Nasarawa State Governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura, former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, and Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) General Buba Marwa (retd), among others.
Addressing the assembly, Hon. Farouk Adamu emphasized the group’s continued allegiance to President Tinubu, stating, “We are with Tinubu just like our leader (Buhari), and it is our hope that Tinubu continues to remain our leader.”
Senator Tanko Al-Makura, representing the group’s consensus, highlighted their dedication to the APC’s founding ideals and the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ championed by President Tinubu. He remarked, “We, the majority stakeholders of the former Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), who were part of the historic merger that birthed the All Progressives Congress (APC), have gathered to reaffirm our identity, clarify our position, and speak with one united voice to the Nigerian public and to our teeming supporters across the nation.”
