Mohammed explained that the viral video was taken from an unfortunate Lafia Emir’s palace event. In a telephone interview with newsmen, Mohammed said those making such allegations were not honest to themselves and were mischievous in character, adding that “they are only seeking relevance.”
He said: ”A viral video of a man that was stripped naked on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Emir of Lafia’s palace, which was also insinuated and suspected to be the APC National Chairman, is false.
”It was the mere imagination of mischievous people who were unfamiliar with the physical look of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu.
”This unfortunate misplacement of the true physical look of the person of Adamu is not in any way to be linked to him,” Mohammed said.
Naija News reports that the man in the viral video is identified as Alhaji Abubakar Giza, a chieftain of the ruling party in Nasarawa State.
The party chieftain is said to hold the traditional title of Ciroman Giza. Nasarawa State coordinator of a pro-democracy group, A. A Sule Progressives Forum, Jonathan Samuel, has also condemned the dastardly act that occurred to their Grand Patron, Giza.
According to him, Giza was an elder statesman and an APC stalwart who had been a very strong pillar of support to the government of Nasarawa State.
He stressed tha Giza is a peace-loving man, urging, ”the evil act done to him by some unscrupulous elements should not be played down.
”The perpetrators of such a dastardly act should be identified and brought to book to serve as a deterrent to others,” Samuel said, emphasizing the need for all and sundry to be security conscious at all times.
Samuel also urged the security agencies to intensify efforts in apprehending the culprits.
